Some Cool Facts About the Dik-Dik
If I said ‘dik-dik’ to you, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind?
Well I can tell you that you’re wrong, unless you were thinking of an antelope.
A dik-dik is a tiny antelope that lives in the bush of East Africa, Namibia and Angola.
They are named dik-diks because of the sound it makes when frightened.
There are four different species of dik-diks.
Dik-diks weigh between three and six kilograms.
They have an extended snout and a soft coat that is brownish or gray on top and white underneath.
The hair on the crown of male dik-diks forms an upright tuft that partially hides the horns.
