So who is Crash?

Well, it’s all in his name. A bandicoot is generally a marsupial, inhabiting Australia.

Crash is a one of these bandicoots, who was created by Doctor Neo Cortex.

Crash lived happily on the imaginary Wumpa Islands, which the game creators revealed to be in the South of Australia, until his life comes under threat by his creator, who wishes to get rid of him.

Cortex became our central villain.

His many threats endangered Crash’s friends including sister his Coco, love interest Tawna, friends Crunch, Mojo and Aku Aku.

Voice Actors

He has been voiced by different actors including; Brendan O’Brien, Billy Pope, Steven Blum and Jess Harnell.

Strangely though Crash speaks gibberish, with only a few English words such as ‘Whoa’, ‘Nina’ and ‘pancakes’.

What Crash does in the games.

As Crash goes off on his adventures, he collects different objects, including the Wumpa fruit, which can increase health and in Team Racing provide weapon upgrades.

Gems and crystals are gathered when special tasks are completed or found in hidden areas.

Trophies and relics are prizes when completing Time Trials in the racing games of the series.

Some crates that Crash finds can give him more Wumpa Fruit, Aku Aku masks which act as shields from enemy attacks, and extra lives.

When you find all the these crates, players are given a Gem.

TNT and Nitro crates are those which damage crash. TNT has a three-second fuse, whereas Nitro explodes on impact.

Switch boxes (marked by an exclamation point) make invisible crates appear, whereas green Switch boxes ill detonate all Nitro crates.
